This is from a survey of Woodland Cemetery in Kentwood, LA, from the USGenWeb Project. This must be a large cemetery, as there were very many gravesites listed. Therefore, I removed listings except the names which I thought related to our family. Names listed here: Carters, of course; Raborns; Cutrers; Oliver; Varnado. The reason I was interested in Oliver is that Uncle Duncan's wife was named Victoria Oliver, and I noticed they are buried near other Olivers. Varnados are also of interest to our family, and I'll try to expand on that later. There are a lot of Carters and Cutrers -- I don't know if ALL the Carters are ours. Also, it appears that Adron Guy Carter and wife were buried in a different plot than the large one where grandpa, grandma, and our great grandparents are buried. Also, Duncan Carter and wife Victoria appear to be buried in different plots. I have separated what appeared to be different locations with a line of asterisks.
For the large plot with our great grandparents, Richard Tillman Carter and Naomi Augusta Cutrer Carter, grandma, grandpa, Effie Eudora Carter (who would have been Dad's sister), and several other Carters, click here. It appears that the children are listed beneath their parents, and I suppose they are buried next to them. I notice that grandma's name is listed as "Dona Carter", and, of course, she was known as "Dora", so I don't know if the mistake is actually on the gravesite or from the person taking the survey.
Gravesite of Adron Guy Carter and wife. I notice that right above Adron Carter is listed Richard T. Carter, military. I am wondering who that is.
Gravesite of Duncan Carter and wife. Notice that above and below Uncle Duncan are listed Olivers, and Dunc's wife was an Oliver.
